COBIS Art Competition
During the pandemic we try to find creative ways to keep our pupils engaged. This term, we want to encourage participation in a COBIS art competition. Together with the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), COBIS is inviting students to produce a piece of art based on the theme ‘Looking Ahead’.
The children need to think about what ‘looking ahead’ means to them. It could be a hope, a dream or an aspiration. We are looking for imagination, enthusiasm and optimism. They can use any materials they have available. The message of the competition is that creative thinking helps us find solutions to almost everything.
This art competition is a brilliant opportunity for young artists to compete internationally and showcase their talent. The competition is open to all COBIS schools, including applicant schools.
The Junior School will be able to submit up to three entries per age category and we will run an internal competition to select these entries.
The age categories are:
- Early Years and Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception)
- Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2)
- Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6)
The competition entries will be judged by COBIS teachers and art professionals. The winners will be announced on COBIS website and social media channels in April 2022. The winning entries will be published on their website and may feature at their Annual Conference in May 2022.
Should your child wish to participate, please read the attached terms and conditions of the competition carefully Terms and Conditions of COBIS competition and send the original artwork on A4 paper to me by Monday 31st January.
We have encouraged our pupils many times to participate in art competitions and they have produced excellent pieces of work. This time a certificate will be awarded to all participants by our school to encourage their effort and hard work.
Wishing you all a creative and productive 2022.
