COVID Case Year 8
We would like to inform you that we have received information about a confirmed case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) at Campion School in Year 8.
The last day the infected person was in school was Tuesday 11th January 2022. The infected person did not participate in PE on Tuesday (swimming or hockey). It should be noted that the infected person presented a negative self-test on Monday and Tuesday morning, as well as a negative self-test at home yesterday. However, they were confirmed positive this morning, Thursday 13th January. The person concerned will be in quarantine for at least 5 days.
The pupils associated with this case are all of Year 8.
Campion School enables the “close contact protocol” for the whole year group as classes are taught in mixed groups for different subjects.
Accordingly, if your child was in school on Tuesday they should:

In case you will need self-tests, in addition to those the pharmacies are providing for free for the five days of testing please contact the school nurse.
Please note in accordance with EODY’s Guidelines and Gazette’s (FEK) Regulations, we fully expect your child to be in school, unless they have a positive test or are unwell.
Deep cleaning and disinfecting of the exposed locations at Campion have been completed, according to EODY’s and Ministry of Health and Education guidelines.
We would like to remind you the most common symptoms of Covid-19 infections are cough, fever and shortness of breath. Muscle aches, sore throat and fatigue are also common . Symptoms usually develop between 2-7 days after last exposure. Therefore, the advice from EODY and Campion is:
- Monitoring your child for symptoms and performing temperature checks and Covid-19 tests as described above for 7 days.
- Consult with your child’s physician for evaluation and need for additional testing if your child develops symptoms.
