From the School Nurse

16 October 2020 Categories Junior, Senior

Dear Parents,

As our new school year has already began, I would like to inform you, once again, of my role as the school nurse and ask for your assistance in keeping your children safe and healthy while they are in school.

I am available to the students of the Junior and Senior School throughout the school day. Of course, I will be in contact with you if your child is ill or has a serious injury while in school.

Students of Years 3, 5, 7, 9 will receive vision screening and Years 4 & 8 will be given hearing screening. When these screenings are completed, I will notify you only if the screening indicates the need for a physician referral. Also, I will be offering appropriate health lessons for some of the students and will maintain a bulletin board outside my office with current health information for students, staff and families.

Below are some important things I ask of you, on top of COVID-19 guidelines that I have already sent.

  • Please be sure your child’s immunisations are up to date. ALL children are required to have a booster MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) and DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis) between 4 – 6 years old. In addition, all 1112 year olds should have the meningococcal vaccine and a tetanus booster. I recommend that you ask your child’s doctor about the vaccine for HPV given to girls ages 12-18.
  • Medication should not be carried by any student while in school unless special permission has been given. Please inform and I will be happy to administer any medication that is required during the school day.
  • Remind your child to always check with me to be evaluated before making the decision to call home because of illness or injury.
  • HEALTH FORM must be completed on every new student and updated in Years 1, 4, 7, and 10.  A copy of the Pupil Health Form can be found on the Campion School website. under the topic “Admissions”.

Your cooperation in these matters is much appreciated. Together we will provide a safe and healthy environment for all Campion students.

Yours sincerely,

Konstantina Konstantopoulou RN, MSc
