IB registration and booklist

22 June 2020 Categories Senior

Dear Parents,

I would like to inform you of a few matters concerning the IB programme.

IB registration day will take place on Thursday 3rd September at 9.30am in the Senior School Hall. There will be a short introduction followed by the opportunity to discuss subject choices with the relevant IB advisors. Students will then register formally for their courses and normal classes begin on Monday 7th September.

To be admitted onto the IB programme, current Campion students will normally be required to have achieved at least five passes at IGCSE (grade C or higher), including Mathematics and English Language.  If this has not been achieved, progression into Year 12, and the programme that the student might then follow, will be subject to formal agreement by the School following individual consultation with student and parents.

To register for an IB course at Higher Level, we expect students to have obtained at least a grade C in the appropriate IGCSE subject or the equivalent. Some courses have more specific entry requirements, which are detailed in the IB Course Guide, a copy of which can be found on the Campion School website. Some students may wish to alter the provisional choice of IB courses they made in light of their IGCSE results.

Please click here to access a document that lists the books our IB students should purchase over the summer. You should be able to find everything you need from bookstores in Athens as well as on Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk).

If you have any questions about the book list or any other issue about the IB before the beginning of next term please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Kate Varey

IB Coordinator
