We are excited to share with you the success of our Junior Environmental Week which took place at the beginning of this term. The week was filled with various activities and projects aimed at raising awareness about the environment and our role in protecting it. The EYFS participated by going on a cleaning walk around the school and watering the plants. Year 1 and 2 visited the Archelon Sea Turtle Centre, where they learned about sea turtle conservation and even adopted a turtle. Year 3 had a chance to explore the plants and trees of the Hymettus mountain. Year 4 visited the Vorres Museum, where they created art out of rubbish, showcasing the importance of recycling and reducing waste. Meanwhile, Year 5 and 6 went on a beach cleaning excursion to Schinias, where they collected and disposed of litter.

The Year 12 students presented an interactive ecology project to years 3-6 in the Hall, promoting sustainable practices. During the assemblies, each class presented their projects and activities, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Additionally, the Green Team donated a lemon tree, which now sits in the playground surrounded by a wooden bench. Environmental Week was a great success, encouraging our pupils to be environmentally responsible and make a positive impact on the planet.
