The ISTA Workshop

Our trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon was better than I could have ever imagined. Our cozy bed and breakfast was situated just across the River Avon and the 10-minute walk every morning to our events was beautiful and tranquil. The workshops that we took part in were both educational and exciting. Working with 20-odd strangers of similar age throughout the three-day event meant that not only did we develop friendships but we also built up our theatrical knowledge, gaining vital ideas for the multiple pieces of coursework that make up our final grade. It is a must for future theatre groups and I feel much more confident writing up my directors notebook and planning my solo piece now.

Science Olympiad

On Saturday 16th December, Campion School will compete in the preliminary round of the EU Science Olympiad (Slovenia, April 2018). The event is organised by the Greek Ministry of Education and consists of experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Alexandros Kapelios, Manos Melanitis, and Matteo Tzenetopoulos worked hard to prepare for the competition and hope to proceed on to the next and final round, which will pick out the two schools to represent Greece at the Olympiad. Good luck!

Year 7 European Bread Museum Trip

On Friday, 24th November Year 7 pupils went on a European Bread & Folk Art Museum trip and learned more about Hellenic culture and history. They were introduced to how the Greeks made their wheat into flour and the special tools they used back in the old days.

The part the pupils most enjoyed at the European Bread & Folk Art Museum was when they made bread designs, which they took home. Pupils were very happy and enjoyed the trip. It was a great experience!

On Sunday 12th November, a group of CAS students in Year 12 attended the Special Olympics Fun Run of the Athens Classic Marathon. We ran together and supported athletes with special needs in a 1.5 km run from the Greek parliament to the Panathenaic stadium. It was a wonderful experience and made a great impact on both the CAS students and the special needs athletes.

A Big Thank You!

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our Let's Make a Child Happy campaign. Thanks to your generosity, we collected dozens of school bags, pencil cases and large quantities of other school supplies which were handed over to the Hamogelo tou Paidiou organisation on the 20th of October, 2017. We are very happy with the wonderful response we got from everybody and pleased to be doing something positive to help children not as fortunate as ourselves. THANK YOU!

PRC Blood Drive

The PRC is taking the initiative to organise, for the first time this year, a blood drive in collaboration with the Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital, which will take place after the holidays. The aim is twofold: (1) to help the children in need, and (2) to establish a blood bank that will be readily available to the Campion community should it be needed.

In fact, every two seconds someone in Greece needs blood. Although a lot of people are eligible to donate blood, very few do, making blood donors part of an elite group. By taking part in our blood drive you can help spread the word about how great it feels to donate blood and give someone a chance to share more laughter, joy, and time with family and friends.

Therefore, we kindly ask you to let us know, by return mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (deadline 17 November 2017), if you would be interested in participating in our blood drive.

However, there are certain restrictions that need to be considered before replying. Please check the following list:

  • You are under 18 or over 65
  • You have spent more than 6 months in the UK between 1986 and 1996 (unless you were a vegetarian)
  • You have taken aspirin or antibiotics in the last 7 days
  • You have a cold
  • You are pregnant
  • You have had a major operation in the last 6 months

El dia de la lengua española Assembly

On the 12th of October 1492 Cristobal Colon arrived in the Bahama islands and discovered America. In 2014 the United Nations declared the 12th of October the day of the Spanish language. To commemorate this day all pupils studying Spanish from years 7 to 11 prepared several sketches, songs and dances which displayed their communication skills in Spanish.

The event was a great way for pupils to put their language studies to practical use and show their parents how their skills are coming on.

Congratulations to all for a job well done!
