Year 12 Visit the National Archaeological Museum

14 December 2021 Categories My Campion

Last Thursday, 9th December, the Year 12 Visual Arts pupils went on a trip to the National Archaeological Museum in the centre of Athens. There, we had the opportunity to look at ancient Greek art, ranging from Cycladic sculptures and artefacts to Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic artworks which included sculptures, vases and jewellery.

After studying and being inspired by ancient Greek culture, we brought back our knowledge to the classroom where we will be using it to develop our own artwork. It was really nice visiting the museum and seeing the artwork first-hand and up close. This museum would definetely be worth visiting again because there was so much to see and to take in! We all had an enjoyable day.
