Year 8’s trip to Aegina

Year 8 went to the beautiful Greek Island, Aegina this year on the 21st May to the 23rd May 2025. It was an amazing trip and we saw plenty of important archaeological sites, plus enjoyed the fresh Mediterranean sea! We left at about 10:30 in the morning from the school as some students had to do ASBRM (Music) exams before we left and then set off to Piraeus. The teachers who came with us were Mrs Bodington, Mr Bradley, Mr Diamandouros, Mr Garcia and Mrs Zamanis. We got tickets to board the ferry and at around lunchtime arrived in Aegina.  We were allowed to explore the port and have lunch and then went to see a beautiful and famous monastery, Agios Nektarios.  Then we went for a hike up a hill to see a stunning view of the sea and land below. We then finally arrived at the hotel Danae and swam in the pool. In the evening we went to the taverna to have dinner and we were given some free time to do shopping.

The next day we had breakfast and then went to visit the Temple of Aphaia. Afterwards, we went to have a swim at Agia Marina and then could order lunch from a nice restaurant. The bus then drove us to Perdika to collect and study  some species in the nearby rock pools where we found plenty of species, including an octopus! We then returned to the hotel, swam in the pool and got ready to go to the taverna for dinner and do some more shopping. On the last day we packed our luggages and left the hotel to see the Temple of Apollo and the Archaeological  museum. Then we were given some free time to do some shopping before we left on the ferry to go to Piraeus. We arrived at Campion school around 3pm.  It was a well organised trip ,we were lucky to have fantastic weather and we all had a great time!!!
