On Friday 22nd September Year 7 visited the Hellenic Cosmos Museum to take part in an educational programme and learn how archaeologists discover artifacts. We split into two groups, native and foreign Greek speakers. We watched a presentation about archaeological fields and the different tools they use. We had lots of questions and all of them were explained to us. Afterwards Year 7 took a short bus ride to a few pre-made archaeological pits with replicas of artifacts that were found in different eras. We split into three groups and were given tools to help us dig up the artifacts. It was GREAT fun and everyone enjoyed it, even though we all got a bit dusty.
