On Sunday 22nd October, students from years 12 and 13 got the chance to participate as volunteers in the Harvest Festival (an annual event to celebrate the harvest of grain and crops) organised by the St Paul’s Anglican Church in the beautiful surroundings of the Kokotos Estate.
We mainly worked as waiters to serve lunch for the participants of this festival (most of which were elderly). Volunteers helped to set up the banquet venue, welcome the guests, and provide prepared food and drinks. There were a number of activities going on including donating second-hand books, purchasing some of the exceptional wines produced on the estate and enjoying the buffet in the courtyard.
All of us worked enthusiastically and although really tired at the end, we really enjoyed ourselves! Overall, it was a rewarding experience for us all and we are very thankful for being given this opportunity!
